Speaking of kids, I can now safely say that I made the right decision of transferring them to a new sch. At first it was difficult and scary since my eldest has this inability to adjust to a new environment. The first week was spent with a heavy heart and face :) ( she was the first one to transfer last year) but it didn't take long for her to cope ( surprisingly) She even found a new 'love" :) I never thought she would try new things since she's a transferee, she was included in the chess varsity team, she's now in her second year in the team and they are preparing for a tournament :)
This school year, its my kuya and youngest to transfer. Kuya never had an issue with changes so I'm positive everything will flow smoothly. He will be trying out later this afternoon in basketball varsity team, I'm hoping they will accept him :) I actually noticed that he is happier. My youngest is the bravest that's why right from the beginning I am rest assured that she'll be okay in a new environment.
I am sharing this because I am aware that most of us parents have this fear of putting our children to a new school. I actually had that same feelings. I thought pulling them out in the institution where they spent they elementary years will be a big mistake. I thought, I'm giving them less because the new school is not as well known compare to the other one but the curriculum is at par. I am overwhelmed with the outcome really. I can see they are happy with the new surroundings, new friends, teachers - they even have new stories for me every single day. We must welcome changes with open arms, we should be more positive and learn to trust your decisions. Who knows it is the best one we will ever make :)
